MIG/MAG Welding

With continuous-wire MIG/MAG welding we make fast, strong joints in mild steel sheet, profiles and structures.

What is MIG/MAG welding?

In MIG/MAG welding a wire fed continuously from a spool melts as both electrode and filler, while a shielding gas protects the weld from the air. With an inert gas it is called MIG; with an active gas mix, MAG.

Welding speed is high and the seam is full, which makes it a productive, durable method for thick sheet, profile and tube joints and for structures and chassis.

What is MIG/MAG welding?

Why MIG/MAG welding

Strong joints

Full, deep-penetrating seams give sound joints on load-bearing parts.

High speed

Continuous wire feed finishes long seams quickly.

Made for series

Repeatable settings give the same quality across a series.

Efficient on thick stock

Full seams in few passes on thick sheet and profiles.

Ready for coating

Once the welds are cleaned, parts are powder coated in the same shop.

MIG/MAG welding questions

What is the difference between MIG and MAG?

Both are gas metal arc welding. MIG uses an inert gas such as argon, MAG an active mix containing carbon dioxide. MAG is the usual choice for mild steel.

What is MIG/MAG welding good for?

Steel profile and tube structures, chassis and frames, thick sheet joints and series production parts.

Can the parts be coated after MIG/MAG welding?

Yes. Once the welds are cleaned we powder coat the parts in the same shop.
